These are the technical skills that i have observed while searching about job offers to fresh graduates or to those with a year experience in the ICT field. As I have observed, most companies require SQL knowledge. Companies also require HTML, C/C++ and Java skills. Some companies prefer applicants with knowledge in Visual Basic, Css, Seo. Knowledge in Cobol and oracle is also a requirement in some jobs. The job titles are listed in the given reference :)
The non-technical skills that the companies are searching for is mainly good communication and writing skills. Moreover, they require good analytic skills. They also need people who can work under pressure. Being proactive is definitely a plus!:)
After seeing the requirements in jobs which are connected with the program that I am pursuing, I have realized that technical skills are not the only requirement in order to land in the job that we want. We should also take into consideration the Non-technical skills (which is more on the attitude of a person) and the responsibilities that will be given to the employee. We should be able to cope up with those aspects in order to be an effective employee and achieve our goal.
I have realized that being an ICT professional is not all about the technical skills that we have aquired. I think it's a combination of technical skills plus the morals which we have, including the ability to adjust to whatever responsibility that is given to us. We know that technology changes from time to time so being able to adopt and adjust easilly is also a must.
In the end, hollistic developement is what we should have in order to be an effective ICT professional.
I know that within the three to four years of my stay here in this institution, I would be able to aquire total developement which will help me to be a competitive ICT professional :D
